This privacy policy explains how AustriaDir processes personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Austrian data protection law.
1. Data controller
The controller for this website is Djudi Asaad, Freytaggasse 25/79, 1210 Wien, Austria. Privacy enquiries: contact@austriadir.com.
2. Overview
AustriaDir is a static Austria directory — currently covering Vienna. We do not operate user accounts, newsletters, or profiling. Personal data is processed only where needed to run the site, handle voluntary forms, or support optional services you enable.
3. Data we process

4. Recipients and processors
- Web3Forms — form delivery (USA; transfers based on EU Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable).
- Hosting provider (e.g. Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, or similar) — static site delivery.
- OpenStreetMap & CARTO — map tiles; loading maps may transmit your IP to tile servers.
- Analytics provider only if explicitly enabled in production (disabled by default in the current build).
5. Cookies and local storage
On your first visit (or after we update this policy) we show a cookie banner. Non-essential categories — analytics and advertising — load only after you consent. You may reject all optional categories (“Essential only”), choose categories individually, or change your mind later via “Cookie settings” in the footer.

- Essential: stores your cookie choice — required so we can remember your decision.
- Functional: recent search terms on the search page (device-local only; legitimate interest in usability).
- Analytics (optional): e.g. Google Analytics or Plausible — only if you consent.
- Advertising (optional): Google AdSense — may set Google cookies; only if you consent.

Withdraw consent
Use “Cookie settings” in the footer to update or withdraw optional categories. You can also clear local storage and cookies in your browser. Withdrawal applies for the future only.
6. Location sharing
When you choose “Use my location”, your browser asks for permission. Coordinates are used only client-side to sort results and are not sent to our servers.
7. No automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may have the following rights, where the legal requirements are met:

9. Children
This site is aimed at adults and travelers. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 14.
